Introducing iCOS LIVE AGENT LINK Press Release

At iCOS LIVE we are always open to adjusting our service to enable our customers to do business in new ways.
A new feature which has come out of just such a scenario is our new iCOS LIVE AGENT LINK.

AGENT LINK uses LIVE LINK technology to enable two seperate companies to work extremely closely together in real-time, whilst still maintaining seperation of the kinds of private data you would not want to share.

This feature came out of discussions we had with Rod McColl - Director of Anywhere Logistics. Rod had this to say:

With the iCOS LIVE online transport management system, ICOS LIVE 'LINK' and ICOS LIVE 'GO' to mobile, what this system is now able to offer in regards to integration with the both the contractor and the client you cannot put a price on.

iCOS LIVE GO - Getting smarter

We've been so busy talking to people and adding functionality to all of our packages, that we haven't stopped to take a breath and write about all the exciting new changes available.

iCOS LIVE GO has had alot of new features added;

We now have an application developed for Android phones. Check it out by clicking here
GO will still work just fine without the installed app, but to get additional features it needs to be installed.

We also have change lists for each new version release on our Android Market page, so check back there for a detailed list!

Here's a brief list;
  • Android phones now use our 'Silk' technology for an ultra-smooth signing experience
  • You can now supply a contact phone number when creating a booking, which a driver can touch to dial
  • You can now access turn-by-turn voice navigation for uplift and offload locations*
  • We now support special templates for manifesting, and can group uplift and offloads by location
  • Number entry fields for on-the-go booking now show a number pad instead of a keyboard*

Annandale Logicstics Limited: May the 4th be with you!

The iCOS LIVE team welcomes aboard Annandale Logistics Limited, who supply Hay, Straw and Silage products to meet your specific requirements and budget and deliver direct to your farm.

After his sign up on a Thursday, we called Leigh - Managing Director of Annandale, to an arrange an online training session the following Monday. On the Monday we called only to find he had already taught himself everything we had planned to train him!

Here's a word from Leigh;

We had been looking for a dispatch management system for some time and in changing our accounting system to Xero we found one of the partners was Icos which integrated directly for billing.

I went to the Icos site and registered for the free trial to see whether it would fit what we were looking for.

The site was so simple to navigate around as a first time user and had all the functions we were looking for and with a bit of self training and support from the team at Icos after only a week we are now fully signed up and loading over 150 jobs per week with the ability to see exactly what every job is earning us.

The system also generates con notes for each job which has driver POD and customer copy on one page so we just bought a simple sheet perforator and we were in business saving on paper and printing cost as well.

We are now looking at integrating a GPS tracking system so our customers can log on and track their freight and we will be able to use the sign on glass feature to POD and bill jobs from the truck the minute they are delivered and being a web based system we are able to log on and work from anywhere in the world.

This is a fantastic product and we will be recommending it to all our customers.

Elios & Co Ltd on the Information super-highway

Since taking the plunge and coming on-board with iCOS LIVE last year, Bob at Elios transport has changed the way he manages his business. iCOS LIVE GO in the wild

Earlier in the year we announced development of iCOS LIVE GO, a solution allowing you to use an iPAD, iPhone, or Android based mobile phone to track consignment steps while on the road;

We're happy to announce that development has been a great success, with customers already using GO for tracking their container movements and courier packages

GO shares a common theme in terms of usability with our latest iCOS LIVE release, and is designed specifically for fast and easy use while on the road, and to be clear to see on a small screen.
It is also designed to minimise usage of data traffic on your mobile connection, for example, compressing a signature to up to 30 times less traffic usage on your phone account before sending it back to iCOS LIVE.

You can now also enter 'on-the-fly' consignments from your device, entering the minimum required amount of information to get a charge rate for the consignment. This is great for those odd packages that get thrown onto the truck at the last minute, and ensures no revenue leakage or after-the-fact data entry.

Signatures can be captured at any stage, for instance for Proof of Delivery for freight consignments, or for delivery to consignee or dehire yard for containers.

You can also supply us with custom layouts for how a consignment is displayed, and we can set that up for you with no changes to any of your devices.

iCOS LIVE new release!

We're proud to announce iCOS LIVE - Version 14 (HD) is now live.

The 'HD' nickname alludes to the major design facelift, making better use of larger monitors and making it easier and faster to navigate around the system and get where you need to go.

This update also allows you to open up consignments from the various workbenches without having to close them down, has better support for recovering if you lose your internet connection, is now compatabile with Internet Explorer, as well as the existing full support for Firefox, Apple Safari, and Google Chrome.

The update also includes many other tune-ups and usability features too numerous to list.

We hope you'll like it and the new look'n'feel brightens your desktop as you work throughout the day. It certainly has for us!

iCOS LIVE HD enteres pre-release phase

The next major release of iCOS LIVE, iCOS LIVE - HD, is right around the corner.

As of today, the new release is available for pre-release for any iCOS LIVE user to try and get familiar with it before release - using the usual web address, and will stay there for two weeks before being released in full.

The new release is a major departure from previous releases, and sports a new look'n'feel - dubbed HD, along with better usability features, automatically sizing workbench screens so you can really use that 22" monitor, and a host of other improvements.

A full list of changes will be provided to existing customers, and will be posted as a news entry here closer to the time of launch.

Introducing iCOS LIVE GO!

We are excited to announce the development of a new iCOS LIVE module, iCOS LIVE GO!

iCOS LIVE GO! will be designed to allow you to use iCOS LIVE using a mobile phone or PDA while on the go, perfect for a low investment solution to managing your jobs while on the move.

Each GO! login will be linked to a vehicle in your iCOS LIVE system, allowing office staff to allocate consignments to your drivers for movement, and allowing your drivers to accept the consignments, uplift them, and offload them.

At launch the devices we will directly support are the Apple iPAD, iPhone, or any iOS device with an internet connection, and any Google Android devices or mobile phones. Using these devices will allow you to capture a signature, and also record on-the-go information like container numbers or weighbridge dockets.

Stay tuned for more information, launch date for this module is set for mid-December.

Entrepreneur John Ballard takes matters into his own hands.

Tired of delicate medical equipment arriving damaged or behind schedule, Anasthesia technician John Ballard has taken matters into his own hands and launched Surgical Couriers, offering a twice-daily industry-specialised service in the Hamilton vicinity - moving goods for Waikato, Southern Cross, and Braemar Hospitals as well as specialists, pharmacies, laboratories, and their Auckland based suppliers.

"Doctors and and medical staff need equipment delivered on-time and in perfect working order.", John said.
"Having worked at the hospital for a number of years I found that not to be the case - so I decided to provide a service they could rely on."

"To assist me in offering a top class service, I signed up to iCOS LIVE - where I can offer my customers online bookings and full track and trace via the iCOS LIVE GO! technology, which is all built in and at no extra cost, offers job bookings to be received and actioned Acceptance or rejection, pickup, delivered, and signed-on-glass for Proof of Delivery."

After John called the iCOS LIVE office and over a series of conversations, often interupted by surprise calls to the operating room!, we worked out how iCOS LIVE could help Surgical Couriers meet it's goals.

The fine-grained track-and-trace in iCOS LIVE, coupled with anytime, anywhere online booking for his customers were a perfect match for John's goal of reliable, on-time delivery.

John also needed a way for his team to manage pickup and delivery lists while on the road, which happened to be perfect timing for the final development stages of iCOS LIVE GO!, a new iCOS LIVE module that allows any Android, iPAD, or iPhone device with a wireless internet connection to recieve jobs from iCOS LIVE, Accept them, Uplift them, and Offload them - and even capture a signature from a consignee.

Freight Plus & iCOS LIVE, transforming tomorrows transport market, today.

Freight Plus today announced plans to develop a fully integrated and independent network over the next few years made up of regional owner drivers and carriers. Freight Plus' aim is to cement its position as a dominant player in the New Zealand domestic road transport market, whilst securing a sustainable future for their regional partners.

The new network will enable Freight Plus and their alliance partners to truly compete against the National and International carriers who currently dominate the New Zealand Domestic freight market.
