We had been looking for a dispatch management system for some time and in changing our accounting system to Xero we found one of the partners was Icos which integrated directly for billing.

I went to the Icos site and registered for the free trial to see whether it would fit what we were looking for.

The site was so simple to navigate around as a first time user and had all the functions we were looking for and with a bit of self training and support from the team at Icos after only a week we are now fully signed up and loading over 150 jobs per week with the ability to see exactly what every job is earning us.

The system also generates con notes for each job which has driver POD and customer copy on one page so we just bought a simple sheet perforator and we were in business saving on paper and printing cost as well.

We are now looking at integrating a GPS tracking system so our customers can log on and track their freight and we will be able to use the sign on glass feature to POD and bill jobs from the truck the minute they are delivered and being a web based system we are able to log on and work from anywhere in the world.

This is a fantastic product and we will be recommending it to all our customers.

At Coast to Coast we provide personalised service as we are a small locally owned company.
We know all our customers having formed partnerships with them to solve their freighting requirements in a cost effective, fast, friendly way.
Operating 11 of our own trucks and having built up a network of like-minded service orientated sub-contractors, we specialise in moving freight from Taupo-North, South Auckland - South.

When our company took up the offer of a free online demonstration [for iCOS LIVE] over the internet, we knew immediately this was what we were looking for.

As a freight hub receiving freight from other freight forwarders from all over the country, as well as uplifting, or dispatching freight on their behalf, co-ordinating the freight of our substantial customer base mean't we previously had several full time staff entering manifests and dockets, and we often worked late into the night.

We had been looking for a freight management system for some time which would eliminate our work load, reduce costs, and make sure we were capturing all the work our trucks were flat out doing. We needed an innovative, cost-effective tool to help grow our business, and be able to have access to it anytime, from anywhere for when we aren't in the office.


A major point of difference with the iCOS LIVE software is that it can receive freight manifests electronically from other freight forwarders systems which appear without any human intervention on the iCOS LIVE dispatch workbench, automatically rated, where they can be allocated to our internal manifests.

The quick and simple manifest processor in iCOS LIVE enables the creation of priced manifests. These can be emailed back to our forwarding customers giving the freight full traceability.

The reduction of re-keying for just one companies manifests is a huge time saver, and we are urging all of our freight forwarding customers to do the same as this reduces resource spent, freight reconcilliations, error, and revenue leakage.

We will also be encouraging our customers to come online to track and trace their freight as this will eliminate customer service phone calls and time. Along with our subcontractors so they can view jobs, action acceptance, and POD on our behalf. With buyer created invoices there will be little for our sub-contractors to do.

If dockets are lost for any reason we can re-print them at anytime as PDF's.

With all of these new savings we didn't even have to change our MYOB accouting system as iCOS LIVE interfaces with MYOB.

Trans Otway LTD are a family owned refrigerated transport company who deliver freight throughout New Zealand. We have a fleet of some 100 trucks, which are all compliant to carry refrigerated freight. We have depots in Dunedin, Christchurch, Blenheim, Palmerston North and Auckland, all who have coolstore facilities.
